BHAIRON.
In Sikh musicology, Raag Bhairon is one of the 60 raags featured in the Guru Granth Sahib. It is the 48th raag in the sequence and spans pages 1125 to 1168. This raag is traditionally performed before sunrise and is associated with themes of faith, devotion, and spiritual absorption. It conveys emotions of contentment and steadfast belief in the Creator.
The structure of Raag Bhairon includes specific ascending (Aroh) and descending (Avroh) note patterns, as well as key notes (Vadi and Samvadi) that define its melodic framework. The prescribed notes and their interplay create a meditative and introspective atmosphere, making it ideal for devotional singing (kirtan).
