He was also present on the occasion of the occupation of Sri Akal Takht by the Panlh on 12 October 1920, and later participated in the liberation of Gurdwara Khara Sauda and the one at Gojra. He joined Bhai Lachhman Singh Dharovali`s column to have the Gurdwara Janam Asthan released. He fell a victim to a bullet shot on 20 February 1921. Bhai Indar Singh was survived by his mother, wife and two minor sons. A pension of Rs 20 per month was granted to them by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, who also discharged the family debt of Rs 1000.
