KAPURGARH. village 16 km from Arnloh (30°36`N, 76"14`E), in Fatehgarh Sahib district, has a shrine called Gurdwara Dcra Baba Nattha Singh. Baba Natlha Singh (or Natha Singh) after whom the Gurdwara is named, was a Niharig Jathcdar during the early nineteenth century, highly respected by the rulers ofPatiala and Nabha. His derd or dwelling place, built in the form of a fortress on top of a mound, is now in a dilapidated condition. The Gurdwara, about 25 metres away from the derd, was built later. MALLAN, village 15 km southwest of Jaito (30°-26\'N, 74°-53\'E) in Faridkot district of the Punjab, claims a historical shrine, Gurdwara Ramsar Patshahi X, one km north of the village where Guru Gobind Singh is said to have stopped for a short while travelling towards Khidrana, now Muktsar, in December 1705. The Gurdwara, a flat-roofed hall inside a walled compound entered through a steel gate, is maintained by the village sangat.
PHUMMAN SINGH, BHAI(1906-1924), one of the Jaito martyrs, was born the son of Bhai Hamir Singh and Mat Tabi, farmers of the village of Vandar, 22 km south west of Bagha Purana in Moga district. He grew up into a strongly built handsome young man, with an affable manner. He had no schooling and started farming the family`s lands while still very young. He was deeply influenced by the Sikh movement for the reform of Gurdwara management and eagerly sat through the rites of Khalsa initiation.
This Gurdwara is situated at the place where Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji stayed for some time. It is believed that when Guruji left this place the standing sugarcane crop in the village caught fire. An elderly man told the villagers that Guruji had come to the village but was not given suitable welcome by them. The villagers rushed to Guruji and met him in Dhangira village and asked for forgiveness.
