KALIAN SINGH, son of Dyal Das, was a warrior in the retinue of Guru Gobind Singh.He died fighting in defence of Taragarh Fort at Anandpur in 1700.

LALU, BABA (1444-1542), paternal uncle of Guru Nanak and the son of Shiv Ram and Mata Banarasi, was born at Talvandi Rai Bhoi. He was the younger brother of Mahita Kalu, father of Guru Nanak.

SUJANA, BHAI, a warrior, was the devoted Sikh of Guru Hargobind. He fought with great valour in the battle of Amritsar against Mukhlis Khan in AD 1629.

KALU BAMMI, BHAI, a resident of Sultanpur Lodhl, embraced Sikh faith in the time of Guru Amar Das. He once waited upon Guru Arjan with the sangat and received the holy precept. See Bhai Gurdas, Varan, XI. 20

LATKAN, BHAT, a Ghura Khatri, received instruction at the hands of Guru Arjan and became a Sikh. The name also appears in Bhai Gurdas, Varan, XI. 24.

PIRTHI MALL, a surgeon of Burhanpur, figures in the roster of prominent Sikhs of Guru Hargobind`s time in Bhai Gurdas, Varan, XI. 30.

SUNDAR DAS, BHAI, a Vadhavan Khatri of Burhanpur, is mentioned in Bhai Gurdas, Varan, XI. 30. A very pious and devoted person, he was among a batch of Sikh devotees who travelled from Burhanpur to Amritsar to see Guru Hargobind and receive instruction from him.

GOPAL, SETH, a rich businessman, received instruction at the hands of Guru Hargobind and became a devoted Sikh {Varan, XI. 31).

KALU, BHAI, a Sikh of Lahore, was a mason by trade. He once waited upon Guru Arjan, who explained to him that mere recitation of the sacred hymns did not lead to liberation unless it was accompanied by faith and virtuous action.

MADU, BHAI, a carpenter. His name has been included by Bhai Gurdas in his Varan, XI. 18. The name occurs in the roster of prominent Sikhs of the time of Guru Hargobind.
