MANGINA, SETH, a rich businessman of Muxarig in Lahore, was, according to Bhai Man! Singh, Sikhan di Bhagat Maid, a contemporary of Guru Arjan. He was one of the first residents of Muzarig who, along with their families, accepted the Sikh teaching. See Bhai Gurdas, Varan, XI. 25.

PHIRNA, BHAI, a Sud Khatri, was a devoted Sikh of the time of Guru Arjan. He once visited the Guru at Amritsar and received instruction at his hands. Bhai Phirna`s name figures in Bhai Gurdas, Varan, XI. 19.

BIDHI CHAND, a Khatri by birth, was a devoted Sikh of the time of Guru Ram Das. Bhai Gurdas, in his Varan, XI. 17, describes him as a man "of clear intelligence and of thought undefiled." See MAHANAND, BHAI

DUGAR DAS, BHAI, Sarin Khatri of Takiar clan, received instruction from Guru Ram, Das and became a devoted Sikh. "Takiar the virtuous" is how Bhai Gurdas describes him in his Varan, XI. 17. See DHARAM DAS, BHAI

PIARA, BHAI, once visited Guru Arjan in the company of Bhai Lalu, Balu and Haridas, and became a disciple. The name occurs in Bhai Gurdas, Varan, XI. 18.

SURI, BHAI, a village headman, received initiation at the hands of Guru Arjan. Once, as he was on a visit to Amritsar, the Guru impressed upon him the sanctity and significance of the holy place for the Sikhs. His name appears in the list of Guru Arjan`s Sikhs in

BISHAN DAS. BHAL a devoted Sikh of the time of Guru Ram Das, Nanak IV. His name is included in the roster of prominent Sikhs in Bhai Gurdas, Varan, XI. 17. See PURO, BHAI

GAJJAN, BHAI, an Uppal Khatri, named among Guru Nanak\'s Sikhs in Bhai Gurdas, Varan, XI. 14.

KALU, BHAI, named in Bhai Gurdas, Varan, XI. 13, among Guru Nanak`s leading Sikhs. He received instruction at the Guru`s hands and became a devoted disciple. He, as says Bhai Mani Singh, Sikhdn di Bhagal Maid, led several others into the holy path.
