ANAND MARRIAGE ACT was passed in 1909 by the Imperial (i.e. GovernorGeneral`s) Legislative Council to establish legal "validity of the marriage ceremony common among the Sikhs called Anand." The origins of marriage by Anand ceremony go back to early Sikhism. The practice which somewhat lapsed during the time of Maharaja Ranjit Singh was sought to be revived as part of the religious reform initiated by the Nirankari movement and followed up especially by the Singh Sabha.
BINDRABANA (VRINDAVANA) The alluring and bewitching Krishna grazes his cows in Vrindavana. (Gauri Kabir, p. 338) Krishna brought Parijata (wish-fulfilling tree) from heaven for his Gopi and was engaged in love in Vrindavana. (Var Asa M. l, p. 470) Vrindavana is a vana (forest) in the district of Matbura, where Krishna passed his youth among the cowherds. He is, therefore, called Gopala. His frolics with the Gopis at Vrindavana are very famous. He used to graze cows there alongwith other cowherds.

BRAHMA Brahma bom in the navel lotus of Vishnu was called the son of Lotus. (Kama M. 4, p. 1309) Brahma manifested the hymns of the Veda but extended the attachment of maya. (Wadhans M. 3, p. 559) Only the maya of three modes came out from the mouth of Brahma. (Maru M. l, p. 1038) Brahma was called great god, but could not know the Limits of Lord-God. (Var Malar M. l, p. 1279) Brahma did not realise that he was puffed up with ego. When he was in trouble because of (the theft of) Vedas, he repented.
